The artist decided life priorities.
Yana Druz was known throughout the USSR thanks to dozens of brilliant secondary roles. As the press wrote, the artist always adorned her paintings with her appearance in the film, and the most striking work of hers was the film “Eternal Call”, where she played the cook Tonya. Many fans of Yana’s talent were sure that she would often be seen on the screens, but over time, the artist disappeared from the public eye.
As it turned out, the screen star did not choose a career in cinema at all. In the late 1990s, she was invited to Germany at the Kassel Academy of Arts. She the artist accepted a new job and since then she has been teaching, producing films and writing screenplays.
In the cinema, the artist from that time began to appear less and less. The last time she was seen on screen was in 2009 in the movie ‘Hot Country, Cold Winter’ which was shot by her husband David Safaryan. Her friends try not to give interviews, and she leads a very closed life, so now her fans see her only in exceptional cases during rare conversations with the press.
