Missed WWDC? These were our favorite features

Apple’s WWDC has kicked off – and how! During a packed keynote lasting nearly two hours, Apple piled one announcement after another. No new hardware has been announced, but one thing is certain: all your Apple products will soon feel like new again! Did you miss the event? No problem, we are happy to list the highlights for you!

Commands on the Mac!

The highlight of macOS Monterey for us is the integration of the Assignments automation app. We’ve been big fans of Shortcuts on the iPhone and iPad, and now we can’t wait to build task sequences in macOS as well. Furthermore, we hope that it will be even more possible with it than in iOS. And luckily, Apple hasn’t forgotten even seasoned users of Automator, because this old automation program will work nicely with Assignments in the future.

iOS 15’s Weather app

Apple announced all kinds of fancy new features tonight. ‘Focus’ ensures that you don’t get distracted, Messages is much more social, notifications have a new look and with Live Text you can convert text from photos to typed text. But the app we’re probably going to use most often of all? That will undoubtedly be again! The weather forecast looks much cooler thanks to the new graphics, with clear overview maps. And the animations provide much more clarity than is currently the case.

Portrait photos on your Watch face

The iPhone portrait photos have been a fantastic feature since its introduction. With this new Watch-face in watchOS 8 Not only do you see them every time you look at your watch, Apple has brought them even more to life. Thanks to a clever 3D trick you can zoom in on the head, and it can even fall over time.

Split View on iPadOS

Split View iPadOS 15

Working with multiple apps side by side? That is perfectly possible on a Mac, but on an iPad it was a hassle. With iPadOS 15, Apple is finally making Split View mode on the iPad intuitive. To enter Split View mode, you don’t need to know any clumsy swipe gestures. New multitasking buttons nestle above each app. This will quickly open the multistasking view. In addition, you can switch much faster between apps that you have open here, by swiping them from top to bottom.
