Rescue work was launched when a hiker did not return from his mountain hike at Mount Elbert in Colorado in the USA, writes The Guardian.
“The hiker was reported missing around 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 after failing to return to his home,” Lake County Search and Rescue said.
The rescue workers repeatedly tried to call the man, and heard that the ringing tone worked. They became anxious when he did not answer any of their calls.
They tried to send him messages and left voice messages, but they got no response. After the evening’s first search, they had to go home, completely unaware of the condition of the missing man.
Did not know he was missing
The next day, a new search team was set up to search for the man around the 4401 meter high mountain.
In the middle of the search operation, they were informed that the man had been found. He had returned to his home early that morning, with no idea that he had been reported missing.
He had received many calls, messages and voicemails during his trip, but refused to answer because the numbers calling were unknown.
It has caused the Lake County Search and Rescue search crews to respond.
