Miss World postponed because of the Covid-19: the new date unveiled

We will have to wait a few more months to find out which woman is the most beautiful in the world. The Miss World election was to be held on December 16, it will finally take place on March 16, at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, the Miss World committee said in a statement released on Tuesday, December 21. As a reminder, the French candidate is April Benayoum, and not Amandine Petit. Miss Provence 2020 was the first runner-up of Miss France 2021 but since the latter did not wish to participate in the Miss World election, the 22-year-old Aixoise replaced her.

Moreover, March 16 is April Benayoum’s birthday, as she said in her Instagram story. “I will be celebrating my 23rd birthday in Puerto Rico, with all the Miss, she announces. I’m not going to forget this anniversary, that’s for sure!“Hopefully this coincidence brings him luck to take the title and succeed Denise Perrier, the only Frenchwoman to have worn this crown… in 1953!

April Benayoum “released“of his stalkers

During the election night of Miss France 2021, April Benayoum had suffered greatly from many anti-Semitic tweets posted against him. The Miss was heard by justice and on November 3, the Paris Criminal Court sentenced the seven authors of the offensive tweets to fines ranging from 300 to 800 euros.

“By filing a complaint and going through with this case, I wanted to show that being behind a screen does not protect justice. It was also important for me to make people understand that there are consequences for what people can write on the Internet. After their conviction I felt set free“, April Benayoum told Gala. The Miss World title contender is now worried that spectators around the world may act the same.
