Miss USA 2019 Died, Jumping from 60-Story Apartment Building in New York

NEW YORK, KOMPAS.com – Cheslie Kryst, Miss USA 2019 was killed on Sunday (30/1/2022) morning, according to family and police.

Kryst, who was 30, was found dead after jumping from a 60-story apartment building in New York City, according to the New York City Police Department.

“In great devastation and sadness, we mourn the passing of our beloved Cheslie,” her family said in a statement obtained. CNN on Monday (31/1/2022).

“Her incredible glow is one that inspires others around the world with her beauty and strength. She’s a caring person, she’s compassionate, she’s cheerful and she shines.”

The former Miss USA winner uploaded an Instagram photo before her death. “May this day give you rest and peace,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself.

Kryst is an attorney trying to help reform the American justice system. He received three degrees from two universities.

A native of North Carolina, Kryst practices civil litigation for a law firm, and works to help prisoners who may have been sentenced to unjust sentences get reduced sentences. It’s done for free.

“Cheslie embodies love and service to others, both through her work as a lawyer fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA,” the family statement added.

“But most importantly, as daughters, sisters, friends, mentors, and colleagues – we know her influence will live on.”

Kryst, who is legally licensed in two states, earned a law degree and an MBA from Wake Forest University and completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina, where he became a runner.

Kryst also works as a correspondent for the entertainment news site ExtraTV.

“Our hearts are broken,” the company said in a statement.

“Cheslie is not only an important part of our show. She is a beloved part of our Extra family and touches the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all of her family and friends.”

In addition to working in law, she operates a fashion blog, White Collar Glam, for women’s workwear and volunteers for Dress for Success.
