The Miss Recovery & Recycle association de Rezé recovers second-hand clothes, through donations from private individuals, to give them a new life and promote another way of consuming. It is located at 49 rue Alsace Lorraine in Rezé! Closed Monday, open Tuesday Wednesday Friday 10.30am to 7pm, Saturday 10.30am to 6pm.
The idea is to create, renew, recycle, transform, modify, do individual and group lessons, train, with a leitmotif: don’t throw away!
These clothes come from donations, which the association’s volunteers sort, and what doesn’t make it onto the shelves is redirected to other associations such as the solidarity store L’homme Debout, or Le Relais, which will turn them into insulators when they are too damaged.
And the prices?
For example, for a new sweatshirt you have to count around 40 euros, in the association’s premises you can find entire shelves of used clothes at very low prices – you can find jeans for €3 for example, a sweater for 5 euros or a t-shirt for 4 euros!
From selling at low prices in the second-hand shop, donating heavily used clothes to the Point Relais to produce insulation, donating part of the clothes to an association that favors integration through economic activity, through the sale of creations made from the recovery of fabrics and also through the sale of “upcycling” garments.
Upcycling means that we take an object like a used yellow jersey from the Tour de France, for example, and update it, without expending further energy to deconstruct the available material.
The association offers an editing service and individual or group sewing lessons to learn how to do everything by yourself.
In summarythe Miss Récup & Recycle association is aimed at all audiences and works through its actions to defend the idea of repairing and recovering instead of throwing away.
