Rikkie Kolle has received many hate messages and death threats since her election as Miss Netherlands. The 22-year-old winner receives the hate messages because she is a transgender woman.
“I get hate messages and death threats,” Kolle said in the talk show on Tuesday evening Renze. She did not say whether she has reported the death threats.
Kolle finds the online hate “very intense”, but said she is above it. “I feel that it makes me stronger, that I want to make myself harder for my community. And it shows that we in the Netherlands are far from finished in terms of inclusiveness.”
