In the early parliamentary elections we will see almost equal results between GERB and BPS and then attempts to form coalitions, because both political forces will not be able to govern independently. This is what the mathematician and election expert Prof. Mihail Konstantinov commented to FOCUS.
According to him, there may be attempts for a minority government.
From 2009 until now, all the mandates of the parliaments and respectively of the governments have been terminated ahead of schedule, but there is nothing terrible in that. What we are about to see is a relatively balanced result between the first two political forces and attempts to form center-left and center-right coalitions. Neither GERB will be able to rule independently, nor will BSP be able to rule independently after the elections.
Of course, attempts can be made for a minority government. Minority government was what we saw after 2009, “said Prof. Konstantinov.
He recalled that the “Borisov 1” cabinet was exactly a minority government, and the “Borisov 2” cabinet was a coalition.
“It is difficult to guess how long the new government will last. It is a little difficult to predict a full 4-year term in this “turbulence”, which is developing not only in Bulgaria but everywhere around us. It would be good if these governments spend at least 2 years – 2 and a half years “, the election expert also commented.
Prof. Mihail Konstantinov also said that the next parliament will decide on changes in the election legislation.
This will be a topic in the election campaign, but it will not matter much to voters. The “election after election” scenario is real, but it is a process that is happening in other countries in Europe, said Prof. Konstantinov.
