Misery in the Pakistan Cricket Team: Babar Azam’s Leaked WhatsApp Chat Causes Controversy

Lahore: The Pakistan cricket team is in a miserable state in the ODI World Cup. Pakistan have lost four of the six matches they played and are on the verge of elimination without seeing the semi-finals. Meanwhile, there were also reports that the relationship between Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam and PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf has worsened. Rashid Latif, who is also the former captain of Pakistan, revealed that the Pakistani players have been playing for the last five months without getting any remuneration.

Rashid Latif revealed that the PCB representatives are not responding to any of the Pakistan captain’s messages. After this, Babar Azam’s WhatsApp chats were leaked. The pictures of Babar’s WhatsApp chats were circulated in some Pakistani channels. In the video, a man named Salman asks if Babar ever called Zaka Ashraf.

But Babar replies that he did not call the PCB chairman. After the WhatsApp chat went viral, former Pakistan star Waqar Younis came out in support of Babar. Waqar Younis expressed his displeasure over the leak of Pakistan captain’s private chats. Waqar said on Younis X platform (Twitter) that Babar should be left alone and Babar is an asset of Pakistan cricket.

Babar Azam and his team had to face severe criticism after suffering successive defeats in the ODI World Cup. After winning the first two matches, Pakistan lost consecutively. Even if they win all the remaining games, there is only a slim chance for Pakistan to enter the semi-finals.
