Mischa Bredewold has won the Volta Limburg Classic for women. The SD Worx rider started a solo in the final of the national competition and successfully completed it. Behind Bredewold, Lonneke Uneken completed the party for SD Worx by finishing second, ahead of Noëlle Rüetschi (
The Volta Limburg Classic for women is not part of the UCI calendar, but with Team DSM, SD Worx and Jumbo-Visma, only top teams were at the start of the hilly classic. The latter team also fielded Fem van Empel, who will drive three races on the road this spring. In addition to the Volta Limburg Classic, these are the Brabantse Pijl and the Waalse Pijl.
SD Worx takes the initiative
But first the Volta Limburg Classic, where there were the necessary crashes in the initial phase. For that reason, the price was even neutralized for a while. When the race was underway, we saw a bustling Van Empel. In the end, however, it was two SD Worx riders who rode away, namely Anna Shackley and Femke Markus. They made a nice gap compared to the peloton, which quickly became smaller and smaller.

However, the thinning suit eventually came closer to the duo. This was mainly due to Van Empel, who did a lot of work in the chase. It eventually led to a regrouping, but precisely at that moment another rider from SD Worx went into battle. Mischa Bredewold went on and on about her teammates and started a solo. The 22-year-old rider started alone on the six-kilometer final lap.
