Miscellaneous – Justice | Terrorism: two suspects arrested in Marseille

According to our information, two men aged 26 and 23 were arrested this week in an apartment in Marseille. The first had already been arrested in 2015 by the internal intelligence services (DGSI) and sentenced in the wake of 5 years of detention for terrorist conspiracy. But the man was released at the end of 2019.

Still according to our sources, he had recently not respected his judicial follow-up, in particular his obligation to report to the police station, and was therefore arrested by the Marseille judicial police. For this breach, he was sentenced to 2 years in prison in an immediate appearance at the Marseille court. The second suspect was closely followed for many apologies for terrorism on social networks, including the sharing of many jihadist propaganda videos. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, one of which was suspended.

These two men had taken up residence only a few weeks ago in this Marseille accommodation, located in a popular district, but for the moment nothing says for what purpose. “We do not know why they had settled together or even if they had a specific project, but what is certain is that this case shows, especially for the first suspect, that it is totally wrong to say that we release guys radicalized in nature without any control, nor judicial or administrative follow-up, we are not at all helpless! “ blows a high ranking officer. “Afterwards, it is certain that if one of these guys radicalized and released from prison twists in 30 minutes and starts stabbing people, there is nothing we can do …”
