He was not at his first attempt. On January 18, an 84-year-old man living in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis) called a plumber to plug a water leak. After asking him € 1,350 for one of his colleagues to intervene, the technician sent the octogenarian to the cellar to carry out manipulations. On his return, the man realized that the plumber had vanished, taking with him a gold bar worth € 48,900, two gold coins and several thousand euros in cash. .
According to 20 Minutes, who reports the facts, the man, already known for this type of theft, contacted the octogenarian the same evening to ask him to withdraw his complaint by promising to bring him the loot. The next day, it was his cousin who came to the home where the police were waiting. He and the plumber, parked not far from there, were arrested. They will be judged on February 21.
