It doesn’t stay there. Parallel to this lawsuit, he filed two more: one against the communication group News Group Newspapers, owned by Rupert Murdoch, and another against the editor of ‘The Daily Mail’ and ‘The Mail on Sunday’.

The High Court of London has finally handed down a verdict in which condena a Mirror Group Newspapers. The Duke of Sussex will receive compensation of 140,600 pounds from the publisher, close to 163.000 euros.

MGN has denied that the information contained in the articles they published was obtained illegally. Even so, they have stated that they are “satisfied with today’s decision, which gives the company the clarity it needs to move forward after the events of many years ago. When historical misconduct has occurred, we apologize unreservedly, we take full responsibility and we pay appropriate compensation.”

For his part, the lawyer for Prince William’s brother has assured the court that it is “a beautiful day for truth and accountability.”

Among the many legal actions taken by Prince Harry, this is his first victory. Four days ago, it was he himself who had to pay 48,000 pounds sterling, about 56,000 euros, after losing a first battle in a defamation case against the Mail on Sunday, for an article relating to his police protection when traveling to the United States.

Now, the victory of Meghan Markle’s husband could not only further legitimize the rest of the lawsuits against the group filed by other celebrities and prevent them from being dismissed, but it could also open the door to the appearance of new ones.

The three lawsuits filed by Harry involve periods of time before he and Meghan met, in 2016. But since the former actress came into his life, his feud with the British press has intensified.

Together they filed numerous lawsuits with which they achieved large compensation, in addition to reaching an agreement in 2021, when a judge ruled that ‘The Mail on Sunday’ had invaded Meghan’s privacy by publishing a letter she wrote to her father in 2018, four months after marrying Harry.
