World record holder Aleksandra Mirosław won the gold medal at the Paris Games in sport climbing against time. In the final, she beat China’s Deng Lijuan by 0.08 seconds. Aleksandra Kałucka stood on the lowest step of the podium.

Mirosław performed brilliantly in Tuesday’s qualifications, breaking her own world record twice. It now stands at 6.06 seconds.
On Wednesday, she competed in the quarterfinals with Spain’s Leslie Romero Perez. She achieved a time of 6.35, while her rival achieved 7.06. At this stage, Kałucka’s opponent (6.49 seconds) was China’s Zhou Yafei (6.58).
In the semi-finals, the Polish women competed against each other. Mirosław’s result was 6.19, while Kałucka set a personal best of 6.34.
In the final the fight was even. Mirosław had a time of 6.10, and the Chinese woman 6.18.
Bronze came a bit easier for Kałucka, because Indonesian Rajiah Sallsabillah made a mistake at the beginning. The Pole was satisfied with a result of 6.53. Her rival had 8.24.
