At the end of the regular season in the Bundesliga, the home fans can look forward to an extraordinary treat: FC Red Bull Salzburg “only” welcomes bottom team SCR Altach on Sunday, March 19 at 5 p.m., but Vorarlberg will come also Miroslav Klose in the EM arena.

The 2014 World Champion and World Cup record scorer (16 “stalls”) has been coaching the Sport-Club Rheindorf since the summer, the first coaching station of the now 44-year-old as the main person responsible. So far, however, Klose and his team have not managed to get past 12th and last place. On the positive side: The connection is there, Hartberg is only one point more in tenth place, and even Wolfsberg in ninth place is “only” four points away. For the final guests in the Red Bull Arena, staying up in the league is definitely within the realm of possibility.

Nevertheless, the contrasts before Sunday’s duel could not be greater: 17 Salzburg victories only see four on Altach’s side, with the defeats it is even clearer 1:13. The “Red Bulls” have netted 48 times more than twice as often as SCR (21) and conceded only twelve goals (Altach 43). And so the difference of 38 points between the two teams is huge on paper. In addition, the “Red Bulls” won a total of 26 times against Altach and scored 86 goals – more than against any other Bundesliga team. So if the Klose team were to succeed in anything with the subscription champions, it would be a big sensation.

Atdhe Nuhiu has hit the bull’s eye eight times

In the Altach squad, ex-lieferinger Sebastian Aigner (22) is only a former Salzburg player, the best SCR striker is Atdhe Nuhiu with eight goals. In these statistics, only one Mozart kicker is a little better this year: Benjamin Sesko has scored nine times so far.
