IIn Fürstenfeld, Mirjam Krause from PSV Eisenstadt grabbed silver in the general Kata class.

The karateka from PSV Eisenstadt showed good performances in the karate section last Saturday at the international Styrian Open 2023 in Fürstenfeld. The Eisenstadt karate club was represented by a small team (four junior athletes and one kata athlete) at this international regional tournament with 208 starters from five nations.

All four kids got a taste of international tournament air for the first time and were able to assert themselves excellently.

In the Kata Minicadets male category, the reigning U10 national kata champion Keresztely Deodat Varga was eliminated in the preliminary round. Julian Enne came fifth and Martin Filep seventh.

The 11-year-old Lea Graf won the great fifth place in the Minicadets female Kumite. It was an important experience on the mat for all young athletes.

Inspired by her bronze medal at the Shotokan International Championships, Mirjam Krause clearly won the second pool in the general female kata class and advanced to the finals where she won the silver medal with a great performance.
