“Mireille Dumas finds…” allows us to watch society change among women and men. Through the personal developments of the witnesses, Mireille Dumas questions social developments. From the question of sexual identity to that of family relationships, from the relationship to money or success to the quest for fame, the major themes of private and public life are addressed.
This new program responds to a request from the public: on the INA Mireille Dumas channel, Internet users have been discovering for several months extracts from “Bas les masques”, “La vie à l’plac” or “Private life, public life”. Many Internet users expressed their desire to know what had become of the witnesses. “Mireille Dumas finds…” grants their wish! Each month, an episode of around twenty minutes intersperses short extracts from the original broadcasts and an interview with the same people, 20 or 30 years later.
In the first episode, broadcast on January 23, Mireille Dumas reunites with Linda, interviewed in 1994 in the show “Bas les Masques” when she was 14 years old and responsible for raising her baby alone in a home. Today, at 44, she talks about the developments in her relationship with her daughter and with her own father, and the challenges she had to face as a teenage mother. In this testimony collected by Mireille Dumas with great humanity, Linda details her journey strewn with obstacles and the resilience she demonstrated.
For the next issue, in February, Mireille Dumas will reunite with Charlie, whose testimony as an HPI child victim of harassment had moved viewers in 1999 in “Life at the Place”.
