Miraculously Unharmed Cake Object at Wajima Drama Memorial Museum Fire Site

A cake object that remained safely next to the memorial hall that was destroyed by a fire on the 4th in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

The Wajima Drama Memorial Museum, which introduced the NHK TV drama series “Mare” set in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, was completely destroyed in a huge fire that occurred after the Noto Peninsula earthquake, but the outdoor objects miraculously escaped damage. Victims of the disaster are posting photos on social networking sites (SNS) and are receiving a lot of attention. Tao Tsuchiya, who played the heroine in the drama who dreams of becoming a pastry chef, also sent a message.

The memorial hall was located at the Wajima Morning Market. Takeshi Nakatani, 59, an office worker from Nagoya, was returning home to his parents’ home in the city when he noticed that the cake-shaped object remained. When Nakatani was working at a travel agency, he was seconded to the city hall and worked on promoting tourism and attracting tourists. “I couldn’t believe the object was still there.It’s a source of hope for the disaster-stricken areas,” he said, crying as he took the photo. He searched for a place with a smartphone signal and posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter) on the afternoon of the 3rd.

On the 4th, Mr. Tsuchiya quoted the photo and wrote about his thoughts. He encouraged the disaster victims by saying things like, “We’ll start doing what we can.In order for you to tell us what to do, please, please, be a little more persistent now.”He encouraged the victims, “I want to start with this cake. ” he concluded.
