The courage of an Egyptian young man saved an Italian girl from certain death after her car was engulfed in flames. While the Italian newspapers praised the heroism and magnanimity of this young man, who intervened in time to pull the girl out of the midst of the flames, after her car crashed into a tree on a road in the Amendola region in the middle of the night, and she became trapped inside the tongues of fire.

The young Alaa El-Din Suleiman told Al-Arabiya.net the details of what happened, saying that after returning to his home in the middle of the night, he heard a strong crash outside, so he tried to investigate the matter, only to find a car crashing into a tree with great force and thick smoke was emitting from it.

He also added that he immediately rushed to help and discovered that the car was tightly closed and inside it a girl who fell on the driver’s seat passed out and blood was pouring from her, indicating that he tried with all force to open the doors in vain until he was surprised by the flames breaking out and almost reaching the girl.

He had to smash the glass and pull the boys out moments before the fire reached her seat and charred the entire car, then he hurried to call the ambulance teams that arrived quickly and took the girl to the hospital.

He also explained that after giving his statements at the police station, he was surprised by the Italian newspapers communicating with him and giving him interviews praising his magnanimity and heroism.

He was also surprised by the girl’s family offering him sums of money to save their daughter, but he refused and confirmed that he did it out of duty and did not expect anything in return.

He added that he visited the girl in the hospital with her family, and she was affected and collapsed in tears upon seeing him and thanked him, saying: “If it weren’t for him, she would now be under the dirt.”

In turn, the Egyptian Consulate in the Italian city of Milan communicated with the young man and thanked him for his heroic and humanitarian work, and confirmed that what he did is a source of pride for every Egyptian.
