Miracle remedies for diabetes promoted on the internet. Doctors warn: There are no drugs to cure this disease

Red alert for diabetes miracle cures promoted online. Experts draw attention to the fact that the lives of patients are at risk because of a product promoted by certain websites as a cure. Those who fell into the trap did not receive the treatment that the doctor ordered, and their state of health was adversely affected. Some even ended up in the hospital after suffering a stroke. According to the Romanian Diabetes Association, there is currently no medicine that can cure diabetes.

Doctors recommend that patients with diabetes do not give up the prescribed treatment to take some supplements that are promoted as miraculous. This is what a patient did who gave up controlling her blood sugar and thus put her life at risk.

Simona Carniciu, expert in diabetes, nutrition and metabolic diseases: Blood sugar went up a lot. I saw the analyzes in which glycated hemoglobin was already close to 11. And the woman, in the meantime, was obviously on a great metabolic imbalance and on a rather fragile ground, advanced age and comorbidities, it is that, other related pathologies, on stroke.

The site promoting the dietary supplement touts its product as a double whammy for diabetes. On the first page of the site we will also find a section where we can enter our contact information.

The Antena 3 CNN team followed all the steps so we were promised that we will get rid of diabetes in a few months: “If you choose a comprehensive treatment, yes, it can completely eliminate the causes of the problem, so don’t just improve them, get rid of them. It is recommended to use both remedies at the same time for up to 2 weeks. Then, you will give up the chemical treatment, you will continue with the natural one until the end, then you will see the results and you will be sure that there is no need to take other treatments”.

Even worse the images of famous experts are used to promote this product without permission.

Univ. Dr Constantin Târgov: Someone is promoting a drug in my name that would replace anti-diabetic treatment, I don’t know what this drug is. I never had anything to do with it.

Bogdan Timar, president of the Romanian Society of Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases: At the moment there are no drugs that can cure diabetes. Even though there are false advertisements that recommend special treatments that claim to cure diabetes, let’s be careful not to fall into their trap.

According to statistics, 1.5 million Romanians have diabetes, the most widespread chronic disease in the country. Their number is increasing year after year, as a result of a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet.
