NNA – Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for “electing a president for the republic and bringing in a specialized team capable of receiving this burden, dealing with it and extricating the country from what it is in,” stressing that he “is unwilling to return to the Saraya, contrary to what some people believe.”
In response to a question by Al-Intihar about postponing daylight savings time until April, he said: “It saddens me that the matter has taken this direction, and what has been taken has been taken.”
He stressed that he “is determined to save the academic year.”
He denied the political and media statements that were made about what was announced by the head of the International Monetary Fund mission, Ernesto Rigo, about the government’s negligence in the reform process, and said: “What happened is the opposite. Mr. Rigo seemed to understand what the government did in this regard.”
