MINTTICS guarantees that Angosat-2 services are already in the commercial phase – Jornal OPaís

World Space Week, an event that brought together national and international technicians and experts, linked to the main space agencies who shared their experience in the space world, ended yesterday in Luanda

The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mrio Oliveira, assured, yesterday, that Angosat-2 is already in the commercial phase.

The government official was speaking at the end of World Space Week, which took place from the 4th to the 10th of October, in Luanda, under the banner “Space and Entrepreneurship”, a motto that was supported by the National Space Program with a focus on achieving 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On the occasion, the minister said that, after more than six months of testing, operation and services, Angosat-2, a high-performance Angolan satellite with greater range in data transmission, is now fully operational and in the commercial phase.

The government official made it known that Angosat-2 is being widely used to provide telecommunications services to national operators, as well as companies and other sectors of the national economy. He highlighted that, currently, Angosat-2 connects more than 150 points in remote locations across the country, namely communes, municipalities and public and private institutions, guaranteeing the availability of telecommunications services in these locations. Mário Oliveira guaranteed that the Angolan Executive is committed to promoting knowledge and employability, especially among younger people.
