In Minsk, a gullible woman became a victim of scammers, whom she paid 8 thousand rubles for “removing damage.” Such information posted on the Telegram channel “Minsk Police”.
As reported Head of the criminal police of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk Timofey DOROSHEVICH, near the shopping center, two women approached a Minsk resident and asked for money. Having received a refusal, they stated that it was damaged and offered help in removing it. The victim believed and brought the “fortune tellers” to her home, where she handed over a laptop worth more than 2 thousand rubles as payment for their services.
The next day, the women reported that the ritual did not help, since a large sum of money was needed to remove the damage, and to confirm their words they performed a certain ritual at the applicant’s home. The Minsk resident believed again and agreed to pay the “fortune tellers” another 10 thousand rubles. The victim did not have the required amount, and she decided to take out a loan from the bank. After visiting several branches and being refused, she took out a mobile phone worth 6 thousand rubles on credit, which she gave to the women. However, she soon realized that she had become a victim of scammers and contacted the police.
Law enforcement officers detained a 22-year-old and a 40-year-old suspect, who were previously convicted of theft and fraud. It was established that they sold their victim’s laptop and mobile phone and spent the money on personal needs. A criminal case has been opened regarding fraud.
