Minsk has been designated as the Sports Capital of the CIS in 2023 | Sports | free time

Minsk has been designated as the Sports Capital of the CIS in 2023. About this decision informed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei ALEYNIK following the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CIS countries in Samarkand.

“We informed our colleagues about the preparations for the Second Games of the CIS countries, which will be held in August in Minsk. We informed that not only teams from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, but also about 15 other countries that have already confirmed their participation are planning to take part in these Games,” the Foreign Minister said.

“We proceed from the fact that these Games will truly be a benchmark for the depoliticization of sports, a benchmark for an event aimed at developing the international sports movement,” Sergei Aleinik said.
