Minsk department stores have opened the pre-New Year trading season, reported in the State Organization “Capital Trade and Services”.
Since the second ten days of November, specialized departments (additional places and sections) have been operating for the sale of Christmas tree decorations and New Year’s paraphernalia. The trading floors and facades are decorated thematically. Organizations purchased additional decorative lighting equipment.
Stocks of champagne and confectionery are being created. The assortment of New Year’s gifts from Kommunarka and Spartak includes 57 items, and Belarusian sparkling wines – 40 items. Sweets are packaged in trunks, soft packaging, tubes, soft toys, including those symbolizing the coming Year of the Dragon, weighing from 300 g to 3 kg.
Buyers are offered about 2 thousand types of New Year’s tree decorations, souvenirs, formed gifts and other holiday paraphernalia in a wide price range. You can find interesting New Year’s garlands and composition bouquets. Domestic Christmas decorations are in demand.
“We expect active sales of artificial trees and New Year paraphernalia from December. We have about 100 types of New Year trees (spruce, pine), of which more than 40 species are domestic,” the association said.
Also in stores you can find carnival costumes, caps and masks for matinees and children’s entertainment programs. Numerous promotions, sales and discounts have been prepared – about 2.1 thousand are expected.
