It is planned to resume direct flights between Minsk and Tehran. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Islamic Republic Dmitry Koltsov told about this in an interview to a BelTA correspondent on the eve of the official visit of Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko on March 12-13.
The Ambassador noted:
“The restoration of regular flights between Belarus and Iran plays an important role in maintaining direct business, scientific, educational, cultural and tourist exchanges. Very soon, direct flights will be established between the capitals of our countries… A direct flight will certainly become a powerful factor for expanding economic cooperation between Belarus and Iran.”
He also stressed:
“The improvement of the transport and logistics infrastructure of the North-South international transport corridor contributes to the revival of mutual trade. The involved organizations of the two countries are working out the best ways and conditions for the delivery of goods.”
Dmitry Koltsov also said that Minsk is ready to continue expanding cooperation, having identified, together with the Iranian side, promising projects aimed at bringing countries closer together in such areas as industrial and technological cooperation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, green economy and climate adaptation.
