Minsal reports over 3 thousand new Covid cases and the positivity exceeds the 10% barrier.

This Saturday, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) released a new report on the situation of the pandemic nationwide, where it reported that in In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,495 new cases of Coronavirus infections have been recorded.

This figure represents a 13% decrease in confirmed cases, compared to last week.

As for the active cases, these mark a figure of 14,653, reaching a positivity at national level of 10.09%. Meanwhile, in the Metropolitan Region it reaches 12.48%.

In addition, the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS) confirmed the death of 16 people in the last 24 hours, product of causes related to Covid-19. With that digit, the number the total number of deceased amounts to 61,306 in the country.

To date, 92 people are hospitalized in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 67 assisted by mechanical ventilation.

As regards the Integrated Healthcare Network, a total of 305 critical beds available for the patient who requests it, regardless of the region in which it is located.

Dal Minsal also reported that 32,681 PCR and antigen tests have been performed, for a total of 45,420,783 analyzed nationwide to date.

In addition, the availability of health residences, announcing that there is 20 accommodation facilities, with 1,190 total beds. The occupancy of these offices nationwide is 30%, for a total of 663 beds available to be used.

It should be noted that, in the last week, 15 regions have decreased new cases.

According to the sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Metro, Ñuble and La Araucanía.

Meanwhile, the region of Ñuble has the highest current incidence rate per 100 thousand inhabitants, followed by the regions of Biobío, Maule and Los Ríos.
