During the afternoon of this Tuesday the Ministry of Health affirmed that all communes in the country have vaccines available against COVID-19.

Through a statement, the Government released this information because some municipalities would not have stock of available vaccines.

However, the letter ignored that “those communes that show a lack of stock correspond to municipalities that they are vaccinating a population that is outside the calendar established by the Health Authority between April 12 and 18 ”.

This is because the Mayor of Las Condes, Joaquín Lavín, reported through Twitter about the current situation of inoculation in the commune, “we don’t have enough Pfizer for the first doses in the next few days. We are having these problems, and for the first time and for two days in a row we have had to tell people to come back later ”.

Lavín also explained that this situation would be occurring in the commune since, according to the instruction of the Ministry of Health, the first doses must be inoculated with the Pfizer brand, since the Sinovac are being reserved for those who have already used it.

In addition, they explained in detail the dose delivery protocol for municipalities throughout Chile. “At the central level, the vaccines are transferred to the DVI (Vaccine and Immunoglobulin Depot) so that the municipalities, upon request of doses according to your target population and to the vaccination schedule, they can withdraw the required vaccines in advance. In this way, they can ensure the continuity of their inoculation process ”, they assured.

Along the same lines, they reaffirmed that the municipalities should be guided within the frameworks of the scheduling, “we make an emphatic call to the municipalities to govern their vaccination process according to the calendar established by the Ministry of Health within the framework of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 ″.
