Samuel, Alessia and Massiel are the first babies born on the first day of 2023 at the Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal (INMP) in the midst of a festive and warm atmosphere provided by the health personnel of this specialized institution for newborns and mothers pregnant.
During her visit to the INMP this morning, the Minister of Health, Rosa Gutiérrez, explained that the first baby born this new year is a boy named Samuel, who came into the world at 00:48 and weighs 3,410 grams.
His mother, Winder Álvarez Rojas, who is from El Agustino, metropolitan of Lima, expressed her joy and gratitude for the treatment she received from the beginning of treatment until the birth of her firstborn.

Minister Gutiérrez added that the second child is a girl named Alessia, born at 01:08 weighing 2,340 grams and her mother Rosaisella Almeyda Llata Sotelo is from San Damián de Huarochirí, Lima.

Meanwhile, the third is a girl, Massiel, born at 01:24 in the morning and weighing 2,980 grams, and her mother is from San Juan de Lurigancho.
“We celebrate life and health by welcoming these three beautiful children. We also want to recognize their three mothers, who have been cared for with industry coverage and by professionals from this prestigious institute specializing in gynecology and obstetrics,” said the minister of health.

Gutiérrez added that at 7 am today, Sunday January 1, 2023, 15 babies were born at the INMP, including 10 girls and 6 boys.
The head of the Minsa highlighted the work done by health professionals at the INMP as a leading institution in maternal and perinatal care.
“The Maternal Perinatal Institute is our flagship institute, it is 196 years old and let’s not forget that more than 4 million children were born here. So that’s a big strength for us,” she noted.
She invited women who have difficulty conceiving to come to this institution to be able to access IVF.
“We are specialists, for example, in in vitro fertilization. People who have few resources can come here to continue or start the diagnosis and all treatments and have a child. It is truly a great blessing because this institute is successful in all things IVF,” she said.
