Minrex attacks Havana Syndrome investigation – 2024-04-07 02:00:28

As expected, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) did not sit back in the face of the investigation carried out by various international media on the so-called Havana Syndrome. which suggests that Russia would have something to do with what happened.

The Castro authorities described the report made by The Insiderthe German magazine The mirror and the program 60 minutes of the chain CBS, as a “political propaganda” operation that did not provide any evidence about the case.

Likewise, Minrex maintains that the joint investigation carried out by the three world-renowned media outlets “hides the conclusions of important scientific studies from the public.”

“This is not an investigation, it is another political propaganda operation that does not provide any evidence and hides from the public the conclusions of the important scientific studies that demonstrate that the ‘Havana Syndrome’ does not exist,” wrote Johana Tablada, deputy director for the US of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, on social networks.

The media claim to have carried out an investigation that lasted more than a year and reached the conclusion that the evils that affected the diplomats of the United States and Canada in Havana during 2016 and 2017 were the result of actions carried out by a group of Russian intelligence.

The Castro diplomat responds by stating that the report seeks to revive “conspiracy theories” to involve Russia and place Cuba as the scene of these alleged attacks against the US Embassy personnel.

He also stated that the press is trying to present the Greater Antilles as a “threat” to the security of the United States, even if Cuba is not being placed as the main culprit.

“It places Cuban territory as the place where foreign powers can carry out acts against the United States,” he added.

The US was suspicious of Russia

According to the program 60 Minutesretired Army Lt. Col. Greg Edgreen, who was in charge of the Pentagon investigation into the Havana Syndrome, indicated that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) did not link Russia as responsible for the incidents was because the country did not want to “face some very hard truths.”

Edgreen said there were no barriers to what Moscow was willing to do and estimated that if this is not faced head-on, “the problem will get worse.”

“Unfortunately, I cannot give the details, due to the classification. But I can tell you that from very early on (in the investigation) I began to focus on Moscow,” he declared to the program of the CBS.
