Minoy’s Controversial Advertising Contract: Alleged ‘Fake Seal’ Sparks Battle Over Truth

Advertising contract alleged ‘fake seal’
A report came out explaining that it was a customary electronic signature.

Singer Minoy (26, real name Park Min-young) gave another explanation as the controversy over her absence from the commercial filming escalated into a battle over the truth. As her position and her agency were sharply divided, there were even rumors that her exclusive contract would be terminated.

On the 6th, Dispatch released a message containing the entire advertising filming contract process between Minoy and her agency AOMG.

In a message from August last year, the representative of the agency conveyed the details of the advertising contract, saying, “It is 200 million won in 6 months and I will inform you in more detail.” Minoy said, “Yes! He replies, “I peck (I like it).” In another message, in December of last year, agency staff and Minoy shared an advertising plan and coordinated the content.

Last January, while checking the statement of settlement, Minoy asked the representative of her agency, “I knew it was 250 million won,” and “I’m curious about how the period and details are written in the contract.” The CEO responded, “I think I said 200 million. “I’ll check more on Monday.” Minoy also knew that day was Saturday and she agreed to meet on Monday as promised.

Minoy, who met on Monday, requested an adjustment to the contract and took issue with the proxy signature. When P, a cosmetics brand company with which AOMG and Minoy signed a model contract, signed an electronic contract, it was mentioned that the stamp image provided by the electronic contract site was imprinted. The agency said, “We have continued to sign contracts in this way (proxy signature),” and added, “We have carried out more than 40 advertisements. “I have never had a problem with this method,” he told Dispatch.

The day before filming the commercial, Minoy stated, “We cannot film the commercial tomorrow without revising the advertising conditions.” The representative of her agency apologized to Minoy, and she said on the day of the shooting, “We decided not to film the commercial.”

The agency acknowledged the no-show, but Minoy denied it. The agency decided to split the compensation ratio for company P advertising damages with Minoy 5:5. Minoy is said to have claimed that the company was at fault, saying, “I know I don’t have to bear the burden.”

After the Dispatch report, Minoy turned on the live broadcast and said, “I have never lied. “It’s true,” he said. “The reason I said ‘good’ is because the representative of the agency said he would summarize and tell me (about the contents of the advertising contract),” he said. “I didn’t know whether the advertising contract had been concluded or not, but when I received the contract, it was January, and it was stamped with the date of December. “I didn’t know because it’s been this way forever,” she said.

He continued, “When I compared it to the cosmetics advertisement I filmed before, I thought it had a lot of content. “Even if only one additional filming was added, the cost was agreed upon through an attached agreement, but since it contained a lot of content, I requested a revision,” he said. As he said that, the conversation became more intense. “They said they couldn’t even request modifications, and I left after saying I couldn’t proceed like this.”

Regarding the decision to not attend on the day of the commercial shoot, “The CEO called my sister and said, ‘You don’t have to film the commercial.’ I also told the manager that I didn’t have to come, but she came to pick me up without knowing. “So I said it was the company’s decision, not a no-show,” he explained.

Minoy caused concern among fans when she was seen speaking gibberish and shedding tears during a live broadcast in the early morning hours of the 5th of last month. On her social media, she wrote, “She has committed her sin.” She was later scheduled to film a commercial for company P, but it was reported that she had a sudden breakdown two hours before the scheduled time. The agency admitted, “This happened because there was a difference in understanding of the authority to sign on behalf of the advertising contract between our company and the artist. As the differences of opinion on this were not resolved, we were unable to participate in the commercial filming.”

In relation to this, Minoy claimed on the 4th, “Contrary to the article, there was no absence from the advertisement two hours before.” “For this advertisement, I was not even informed of the contents of the contract, and they did not tell me when the contract was written,” he said. “Afterwards, I asked to see the contract, but they did not show it to me right away, so I waited and went to see it in person. “At this time, there was a fake stamp with my name written on it that looked different from my stamp,” he complained.

There was even a theory that the conflict between Minoy and AOMG deepened due to this controversy, leading to the termination of the exclusive contract. Minoy signed an exclusive contract with AOMG in November last year. AOMG said, “We are checking this.”
