Minors on the Tax and Customs Administration blacklist

About two thousand minors were also on a controversial ‘black list’ of possible fraudsters by the Tax Authorities. More than a thousand of them are currently still minors. That is what State Secretary Vijlbrief of Finance writes to the House of Representatives.

It concerns a list at the Fraud Alert Facility (FSV) of the Tax Authorities, which is currently under various investigations. The FSV is a system where employees of the Tax and Customs Administration could report suspected fraud from taxpayers. The system has since been shut down.

It is not known why the minors were in the system, it is being investigated, says Vijlbrief. “There are a number of possible explanations for why minors can stand independently in FSV, for example if there is holiday work or a side job that has led to a risk signal.”

What went wrong anyway is that the parents of these minors did not receive a letter about the registration. It went to the minors themselves. The legal representatives of all young people, if they can be traced, will still receive a letter and an apology.

It is also still being investigated whether the young people have suffered any harm or damage as a result of this registration.
