Thanks to the promotion of an amparo in the protection of the human right of children’s health, a total of five small Zacatecans, between 6 and 8 years old, will receive the vaccine against COVID-19, reported the lawyer Jorge Rada Luévano.
Infants suffer from comorbidities that could aggravate their health if they contract COVID-19, so their vaccination is pertinent within 72 hours once the judge’s order is issued.
Likewise, the lawyer explained that the Pfizer vaccine should be applied in the dose recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The little ones who will be immunized are inhabitants of the capital, three of them are 6 years old and two are 8.
“We promoted before the District judge and fortunately the conditions of the minors were assessed and he granted us protection,” said Jorge Rada. It should be noted that this is the first protection granted in Zacatecas for the vaccination of minors.
Rada Luévano stressed that this amparo is a positive advance for the protection of the health of children, since “a correct assessment was made by the judge”, assessing the situation of minors suffering from other diseases that could be complicated by contracting coronavirus .
“It is an advance so that all children under 12 years of age who are in these circumstances have access to vaccination,” he concluded.
