Ana Lucía Pontaza, director of the Santa Cruz del Quiché Health Center, reported that from early on the vaccination post was saturated and the line of children accompanied by their parents surrounded the Health Center. There were more than 150 minors who were looking for the Pfizer vaccine against covid-19.

“The central Health area supplied us with 200 Pfizer vaccines, but we only use 150 for children 12 years and older, because the rest will be used for pregnant women who require it because that vaccine is also given to them,” he said. Pontaza.
He added that last Monday a hundred doses were applied and they were exhausted, so they were supplied on Tuesday and on Wednesday they opened the vaccination for minors again, but the influx of children was greater, “we hope that more children will arrive because the response of young people 18 years and older was not expected ”.
Edy Tojín, father of a vaccinated girl in Santa Cruz del Quiché, indicated that he was satisfied because his daughter already had the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. from the Health authorities, but we trust God that everything will be fine, “he added.
Another vaccination center exclusively for the children of health workers was opened in the central Health area building. The director was consulted on this issue, but did not consider it to be minor.
