NEW YORK – The New York City Police released surveillance video Saturday of a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon that left a minor in the crossfire. Authorities hope to find the whereabouts of the two suspects.
Footage from the video appears to show the two alleged perpetrators of the shooting exchanging a few words on a sidewalk along Webster Avenue in the section of Claremont Village from The Bronx. The incident occurred at 4:08 p.m. Friday, video timing shows.
Then it is seen how a third person arrives on the sidewalk and makes contact with the two suspects and suddenly they draw their weapons and begin to shoot each other.
It is at this point in the video, a child is observed running from a corner where he was with one of the suspects. The minor appears to be only inches from the moment of the shots.
Police said both suspected gunmen fled the area almost immediately, with one of them leaving with the minor. There were no reports of injuries or property damage, according to the uniform.
The first suspect is described as a dark-skinned man and was last seen wearing a black jacket with white lettering, a gray hoodie, dark-colored pants and a black surgical mask. The second is described as a light-skinned man last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie, dark-colored pants, and light-colored sneakers.
