Minor Arrested for Sending Online Threats to Dutch School

The police arrested a minor boy from Zaandam on Tuesday evening on suspicion of sending online threats to pre-vocational secondary school Pascal Zuid in Zaandam. The Zaan educational institution remained closed all Tuesday due to the threatening e-mails.

The school received an email Monday evening containing threatening texts and photos of firearms. According to a spokesperson for the school, the email stated that the sender wanted to harm students and teachers.

According to NH News teachers of the school have also received threatening e-mails. In consultation with the police, the school decided to keep the doors closed all Tuesday, the broadcaster reports on the basis of a letter to the parents. The police themselves reported on Tuesday afternoon that there was no acute threat.

The school will be open again on Wednesday. On Tuesday, digital lessons were given to the students as much as possible.
