Minnesota Vikings win over Pittsburgh Steelers

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Pittsburgh Steelers (36-28) on Thursday to kick off Day 14 of the NFL regular season. The Minneapolis franchise got off to an excellent start, leading 29-0 in the middle of the third quarter, driven by running back Dalvin Cook. The latter has indeed run 205 yards – the best performance of the season – and scored two touchdowns.

But the Steelers then reacted and came back to 29-20 then 36-28, after four TD’s from Najee Haris (double), James Washington and Paul Freiermuth. And, in the dying seconds of the game, Pittsburgh found itself 12 yards from the Vikings’ end zone, with the possibility of equalizing and obtaining an overtime.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger served Freiermuth, who was in the in-goal. But safeties Harrison Smith and Xavier Woods managed to get him to lose the ball, invalidating the pass and sealing Minnesota’s victory.
