Minnesota ∙ Minnesota Governor Tim Walls announced that November 1 will be celebrated as Kerala’s birth day. The governor made this announcement out of respect for Minnesota Malayalis contributions to the state. The Minnesota Malayali Association is a Malaysian organization that has been working in Minnesota for the past 20 years. President Manoj Prabhu said this recognition will strengthen the organization’s activities.
The association plays a fundamental role in introducing the country’s art, culture and customs to the new generations. Secretary Sajith Padmaja commented that this is a proud moment for all Malaysian Americans. He also stated that Kerala’s birth day will be celebrated with various programs.
