Lynx Gear Up for Thrilling Season Opener Against Future Star
The Minnesota Lynx are ready to pounce as they open their season against a formidable opponent: the Wings, and the highly anticipated 2025 No. 1 draft pick, on Friday, May 16. This matchup sets the stage for what promises to be a captivating season filled with intense rivalries and high-stakes battles.
Fans won’t have to wait long for a rematch, as the Lynx will clash with the Wings again on Wednesday, May 21, followed by further encounters on Sunday, June 8, and Monday, September 1.
"11 days later, the Lynx will face the Liberty again in a consecutive three-game stretch that starts on the road in New York on Aug. 10, returns to Target Center on the Aug. 16 and finishes on the road in New York on Aug. 19."
Adding fuel to the fire, the Lynx will face off against the reigning WNBA champions, the New York Liberty, for the first time on Wednesday, July 30, at their home court, Target Center.
Another highlight on the Lynx schedule is a special rematch against the Indiana Fever on Sunday, August 24. This game marks the one-year anniversary of a record-breaking night last season when the Lynx shattered their own attendance record while hosting the Fever.
The Commissioner’s Cup, a mid-season tournament, will kick off on June 1 with a clash against the Golden State Valkyries and culminate on June 17 against the Las Vegas Aces. The grand finale of the Commissioner’s Cup is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1.
