Minlama Mintogo: Plea for a National Social Dialogue Council Minlama Mintogo: Plea for a National Social Dialogue Council

Libreville, Friday October 6, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – For the former 2016 presidential candidate, this body will have to examine the various specifications of the unions and coordinate negotiations between the stakeholders; negotiate a social truce until the organization of the next elections and open discussions and reassure investors. Here is the politician’s proposal in its entirety.

We observe, to emphasize this, that the aftermath of Liberation Coup of August 30 are characterized by popular euphoria, the support of the population and the active forces for the CTRI but also by the development of social discontent that is increasingly perceptible by the multiplication of sources of tension, the threats of strike movements in different sectors of activity and the stigmatization towards several investors.

It is clear that if this trend continues and prospers, the risks of a real social crisis followed by a deterioration of the business climate in our country which could seriously disrupt the progress of the Transition are to be feared.

During the dialogue of AngondjéI had proposed the establishment of National Council for Social Dialogue (CNDS).

This proposal, strongly supported by the participants, was adopted by the stakeholders at the end of our work. Unfortunately, the various successive governments which followed the organization of these meetings did not make this measure effective.e.

In view of the current situation and concerned with the preservation of achievements, the business climate and national harmony, at this important moment in the history of our country; I solemnly ask the President of the Transition, Head of State, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire OLIGUI NGUEMA, to set up the National Council for Social Dialogue.

In the immediate future, three (3) main missions must be assigned to the CNDS, namely:

  1. Examine the various union specifications and coordinate negotiations between stakeholders;
  2. Nnegotiate a social truce until the organization the next elections;
  3. Open discussions and reassure investors.
