A source at the South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company said: The ministry’s decision yesterday regarding the timing of using elevators came as a precautionary measure with the aim of securing the lives of citizens and providing advice on the appropriate timing for using elevators.
The source explained to “Masrawy” that there are instructions not to perform any maneuver at peak time because there are no problems or fluctuations, indicating that the application of load mitigation is not in most cases at the head of the clock and it is difficult to determine at what time the separation is made from any area because each place has its own nature and loads.
He pointed out that the procedure was followed since the announcement of the load-reduction plan and was not born yesterday. Rather, a clarification came from the holding company to the masses of citizens, stressing that the disconnection and connection results in problems and breakdowns, especially when dismissal at rush hour.
He added that the South Cairo and North Cairo companies apply disconnection times for a period ranging from 50 to 60 minutes, taking into account that 10 minutes are granted before and after the beginning of every hour in the governorates of Greater Cairo and Giza in particular, because there is a difference in the rates, timings and durations of the electrical current disconnection, so there is no comparison between the residents of Cairo and Giza, for example in Upper Egypt or in a border area.
He pointed out that so far, no instructions or directives have been issued regarding the end date of the load-reduction plan in various regions nationwide.
It is noteworthy that many citizens complained about not applying the dismissal decision at the beginning of the hour, whether after or 10 minutes before, and the easing of loads came at different times than that announced by the Ministry.
