Ministry wants less regulatory burden for small businesses with NOW inspection | NOW

In the final settlement of the temporary Emergency Measure Bridging Employment (NOW), the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment does not want to overburden small businesses. In order not to burden entrepreneurs with an enormous paper burden, companies that have received less than 25,000 euros in aid do not have to have external parties inspected. It reports that ministry Tuesday.

At those companies, random checks are made to see whether the amount of aid they have applied for is actually correct. Only at higher amounts do entrepreneurs have to go to an administration office, tax consultant, bookkeeper or accountant for a statement.

The ministry writes that 60 percent of companies that have received a NOW payment employ fewer than 10 employees. The administration is sometimes a weekend task, and with a mandatory auditor’s report for all companies that have received NOW, that task would be even greater.

A total of 2.1 billion euros was transferred to companies through the second edition of the NOW, which could be requested between June and August. More than 63,000 companies received support through the measure. In the first round, almost 8 billion euros was transferred.
