The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) revealed that as many as 230 Indonesian citizens (Indonesian citizen) was conducting religious tourism in Israel when the militia Palestine, Hamasattack the south of the Zionist country.
The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and Indonesian Legal Entities at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, said that up to now there are 10 Indonesian citizens in Gaza, 35 people in the West Bank, and hundreds of Indonesians on religious tours in Israel.
“Apart from the 45 Indonesian citizens, there are 230 Indonesian citizens who are carrying out religious tourism at various points in Israel,” said Judha in an official release, Monday (9/10).
Furthermore, Judha explained that Indonesia had prepared a contingency plan for Indonesian citizens living in Palestine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said, has been coordinating closely with the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Amman, the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo and the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut.
“To monitor the situation in Palestine and prepare a contingency plan. Evacuation is one part of the contingency plan,” said Judha.
Judha also explained that up to now, no Indonesian citizen has become a victim of the Israeli-Palestinian war.
Recently, Gaza and southern Israel have heated up after Israeli troops and Hamas attacked each other since last week.
Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday. They claim the aim of this attack is to end the last occupation of the earth.
Israeli troops then responded by launching Operation Iron Sword which was claimed to target Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
The attacks by both parties continued until Sunday evening. As a result of the war, the death toll in Palestine reached 413 people, while the death toll in Israel is said to have reached 700 people.
