The Ministry of Transportation is reported to be summoning Astra Honda Motor (AHM) regarding the eSAF frame, which is allegedly porous which leads to breaking. AHM provided a response.
PT AHM’s Senior Manager of Corporate Communication, Rina Listiani, explained that she would first check the summons from the Ministry of Transportation addressed to AHM.
“We will check the letter first. What is certain, we will be cooperative in explaining the current situation and the fast handling efforts being made to consumers, by directly checking every motorcycle that consumers have complained about,” said Rina.
Rina also ensures that the comfort and safety of consumer motorbikes is Honda Motor’s priority.
“For AHM, the comfort and safety of consumer motorcycles is our priority. We ensure the best quality motorcycles for consumers,” Rina added.
The news that the Ministry of Transportation summoned AHM to provide an explanation regarding the eSAF framework was first coined by the Director of Road Transportation Facilities, Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, Danto Restyawan, as quoted from CNNIndonesia.
“On Monday, 28 August 2023, I held a meeting by inviting AHM,” said Danto.

Danto added that this summons was made by the Ministry of Transportation to find out and directly trace the root of the problem with the eSAF framework. In addition, Danto believes that this problem is not only of concern to the public, but also to the government.
“This discussion is related to the viral one. So I deliberately brought it together, how could it happen like that,” he said.
Danto added that the summons would later involve a number of representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, one of which was from the Roadworthiness Testing and Motorized Vehicle Certification Center (BPLJSKB).
This center owned by the Ministry of Transportation is tasked with testing vehicles, including Honda motorcycle products, before they can be sold to the market. Their job is to issue a Type Test Certificate (SUT) and a Type Test Registration Certificate (SRUT).
“The Bekasi test center was also involved. Me, when it comes to safety, I am firm,” said Danto.
