Ministry of the Interior Calls for Loan Applications for Policemen for the Purchase of Used Houses or Land

The Ministry of the Interior calls policemen active and retirees from all over the country interested in registering for a call for loans for the purchase of households used or land. The application deadline is August 11.

In Montevideo and Canelones, 25 mortgage loans will be granted for the purchase of used housing for 3,200,000 pesos each and 12 loans for the purchase of used housing and/or land for 1,720,000 pesos each. In the case of the interior, 17 loans for $3.2 million and 34 loans for $1.72 million will be granted.

In total, 213,520,000 pesos will be allocated from the Police Housing Fund, which represents an increase of 60% compared to last year.

REQUIREMENTS

To access the loans, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an active or retired police officer who contributes to the Guardianship Fund.
  • The age required to access the loans for police retirees must be under 60 years of age.
  • In all cases, the cancellation period may not exceed the applicant’s 70 years of age.
  • Institutional antiquity not less than 5 years.
  • Reside in the department for which you are submitting your application.
  • Not owning a home, nor being a promising buyer of a property, not being the holder of the right to use and enjoy housing financed by the State, not having been the effective recipient of a housing subsidy provided by the State.
  • Not be covered by the STIP (Transitory Subsidy for Partial Disability), or subject to a disciplinary process at the time of applying for and granting the mortgage loan.
  • Not be exceeded in their police assets, having to have an available amount of more than 30% or 35% of the nominal salary (as appropriate, attentive to current regulations) plus the fee to be paid.
  • Neither the owner, nor the legally recognized spouse or common-law spouse must be embargoed.
  • The requested amount will be subject to the availability of the salary receipt and should not be found in categories 4 and 5 of the Central Bank’s Credit Risk Center at the time of its verification by the Accounting Department.

In addition, it should be taken into account that:

  • The granting of the loan will be guaranteed with a mortgage on the house or the land.
  • The expenses of notary fees, taxes, legal, construction and spare parts may be included in the amount of the loan.
  • Mortgage loans for the purchase of a used home for an amount of $3,200,000 each will be granted in a maximum of 300 monthly installments with an interest rate of 1% per year and a default rate of 6% per year. For mortgage loans for the purchase of used housing and/or land for an amount of $1,720,000 each, in a maximum of 200 monthly installments and with an interest rate of 1% per year and a default interest rate of 6% per year.

Registration is in person. In Montevideo, at the headquarters of the National Directorate of Assistance and Social Security, at Julio Herrera y Obes 1466, through the “Unique Personalized Service Desk” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Inside, in the departmental offices of each headquarters.

Documentation to present:

  • Identity card of the applicant, current.
  • Last receipt of payment.
  • Proof of address, which must agree with the department for which you are applying (Services in the name of the applicant or proof of Police Department).
  • Functional concept valid for no more than 30 days (active).
  • Form A that must include negative of summary (request in Budget Unit).
  • Marriage certificate or cohabitation recognition sentence, if applicable.
