The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announced the price of a kilogram of free sugar in pounds for packaged and loose sugar, coinciding with the beginning of March 2024 and the start of disbursing monthly ration courses.
Sugar prices in the holding company were as follows:
– Sugar, 1 kilogram packaged, costs 35 pounds.
– A check of 50 kilograms costs 30 pounds.
According to an official publication of the Ministry of Supply, the maximum price for 1 kilogram of sugar is 40 pounds.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, on Friday morning, began disbursing subsidized food commodities to ration card holders for the month of March 2024.
The Ministry makes many commodities available on ration cards, including all basic commodities, to be disbursed within the ration plans, through 40,000 outlets, “supply grocers, consumer mall outlets, and branches of my association project” across the republic without an increase in prices, as sugar is disbursed at a value of 12.6 per kilo.
