Ministry of Social Affairs Assures Cooperation with KPK Search on Social Assistance Corruption Case

The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) guarantees that they will be cooperative when there is a KPK search regarding the social assistance corruption case (Social Assistance). The Ministry of Social Affairs said that they did not make any scenarios and did not know what the KPK was examining.

“Oh, I don’t remember it, the KPK also knows what to do. And we don’t cover up anything or any scenarios,” said the Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) for Communication and Mass Media, Don Rozano Sigit Prakoeswa, to journalists at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Jakarta, Tuesday (23/5/2023).

According to Don Rozano, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini did not give specific directions regarding the search. Risma only advised about integrity and security.

“You don’t give directions and so on, what you direct us to have is integrity and security. Something of a general nature,” he said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also said that the KPK might come again if there was anything lacking in today’s search. Don Rozano said that the Ministry of Social Affairs was ready to help.

“KPK, ‘Later if there is anything we need, we will come again.’ ‘Yes’ I said. Yes, what else do you want,” he said.

KPK explanation

The KPK searched the Ministry of Social Affairs building in relation to allegations of corruption in the Ministry of Social Affairs’ rice assistance to collect evidence. In this case, 6 people have been named as suspects.

“Today there was a search activity carried out by the KPK investigator team at the Ministry of Social Affairs in order to continue to collect and complete the evidence we already have regarding the alleged corruption in the distribution of social assistance in the form of rice for the 2020 to 2021 family hope program at the Ministry of Social Affairs,” said Head of KPK Reporting Unit Ali Fikri told journalists, Tuesday (23/5).

The KPK has not yet detailed the evidence seized by investigators. The KPK has not yet explained whose room was being searched.

Ali said the investigation into the alleged corruption in the social assistance rice was still ongoing. The KPK will immediately explain the circumstances of the case when all the evidence has been collected.

“What is certain is that the KPK is currently still carrying out the process of investigating the case in question. And when the time comes, we will definitely convey to the parties who have been named suspects, the construction of this case is complete and complete, including the articles that were applied,” said Ali.

From detikcom’s sources, at least six people have been named suspects. One suspect has been identified named Kuncoro Wibowo (KW). Kuncoro is the former Managing Director of TransJakarta.
