The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) also opened his voice regarding the case two teenagers who killed an 11-year-old boy in Makassar, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi), who target the organs of their victims. The Ministry of PPPA assessed that one of the killers could be sentenced to death because he was suspected of being an adult.
“One of the perpetrators of the kidnapping of an 11-year-old child in Makassar is suspected to be an adult or 18 years old,” said the Deputy for Special Protection for Children of the Ministry of PPPA, Nahar, to detikcom, Thursday (12/1/2023).
Nahar explained that one of the perpetrators’ birth certificate indicated November 5, 2004. This means that one of the perpetrators was 18 years old.
“And with reference to Article 340 of the Criminal Code, it can be punishable by death or life imprisonment or for a certain time, a maximum of 20 years,” said Nahar.
The PPPA Ministry stated that this age detail was important for investigators to investigate. You see, there is an inaccuracy in the data collection date of birth of the murderer.
“The data could still be wrong or just recorded on the birth certificate. We are trying to explore it again so that we don’t make the wrong threat,” said Nahar.
The PPPA Ministry through the PPPA service team in Makassar City also provided assistance to minors involved in this case. In addition, one child who almost became a victim was also accompanied by the PPPA Ministry.
“The Navy, the child of the witness who almost became a victim, is also assisted,” said Nahar.
It is unclear who Nahar is referring to as the 18-year-old perpetrator. Previously, the police had arrested two people in connection with the murder of a boy named Muh Fadli Sadewa, aged 11, in Makassar. The two people were stated to be under the age of 18, namely the initials AR (17) and AF (14).
