Large-Scale Sociological Survey on Demography to Take Place in Belarus

The Ministry of Labor has announced that the second stage of a large-scale sociological survey on demography will be conducted in all regions of Belarus from July 1 to October 31, 2023. This survey aims to gather valuable insights into the demographic behavior of Belarusians and provide recommendations for improving the state’s family and demographic policies.

According to the Ministry, the survey was initiated in 2017, with the first stage involving 10,000 respondents aged between 18 and 69 from all over the country. For the second stage, approximately 6,000 individuals from the initial group will participate. All participants will answer questionnaires anonymously, ensuring the confidentiality of their responses.

The analysis of the collected data will be carried out by 150 interviewers from the Center for Sociological and Political Research of the Belarusian State University. Sociologists, economists, demographers, and physicians will collaborate to examine various aspects of Belarusian society, including marriage and family relations, family values, and the dynamics of relationships between spouses, parents, and children.

The findings from this survey will provide valuable insights into the demographic trends and behaviors of Belarusians. By understanding these patterns, policymakers will be better equipped to develop effective strategies and policies to address the challenges and opportunities related to family and demography in the country.

The Ministry of Labor encourages all eligible participants to take part in this survey, as their input will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the demographic landscape in Belarus. The survey’s results are expected to be instrumental in shaping future policies and initiatives aimed at supporting families and promoting sustainable demographic growth.
