A demonstration of a smart parking robot that combines artificial intelligence and robot technology will begin.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 26th, a ceremony for the opening of a smart parking lot was held near Gyenam High Street in Bucheon City, Gyeonggi-do that morning. This parking lot was prepared for the demonstration of a smart parking robot that Marrobot Tech, a logistics robot company, received a special demonstration in October last year.
The smart parking robot is characterized by the fact that the robot itself can park the vehicle in a designated place. When the vehicle is parked on the pallet, the robot enters under the pallet, moves along the QR code on the floor, and parks the vehicle in a designated place.
The use of this robot is expected to help solve the problem of shortage of parking spaces in the city by increasing the number of available parking spaces by more than 30% in the same parking area.
The smart parking robot corresponds to a mechanical parking system under the Parking Lot Act, but there are no safety standards and standards, so safety screening and certification have been restricted so far.
Accordingly, the government granted a special case for demonstration to verify the efficiency of the parking robot service and to secure data to prepare safety standards.
Maro Robot Tech is planning to open a smart parking lot to the general public after operating it for employee vehicles at the Wonmi Police Station in Bucheon. In the future, it plans to expand the demonstration area near Bupyeong Food Town.
